TailWag

Getting started, the short version.

Five minutes from sign-up to your first walk on the leaderboard. This is what to do, in order.

In this guide
  1. Your first walk
  2. BreedFeed — your dog's people
  3. Parks that aren't just a map
  4. XP, levels, and what they unlock
  5. Wag Wars — breed vs breed
  6. QR collars — the safety net

1.Your first walk

Open the app, hit the orange paw on the bottom bar, tap Start Walk. That's it. The app records your route in the background — close the screen, lock your phone, the GPS keeps going.

Tip: Tap Stop Walk when you're done — don't just close the app. The summary screen is where you grab the share card and post to BreedFeed.

2.BreedFeed

BreedFeed is the social spine of the app. Auto-joined to your dog's breed at sign-up. Five layers wide:

Switch scopes from the top of the feed. Post photos, stats, walk recaps. React with paws. The Pup tier sees only your breed. Alpha sees everything.

3.Parks

550+ real parks, mapped, reviewed by dog owners. The Parks tab shows what's active right now — who's there, when they checked in, how busy it is.

4.XP & levels

Every walk earns WAG XP. XP gets your dog through the 55-level Season ladder. Each level = a Pawstige badge.

Levels reset each Season. Start of a new Season is a clean slate — same tier, same dog, fresh ladder.

5.Wag Wars

Challenge another breed to a 7-day walk-off. Most kilometres, longest streak, best park rating — pick the metric, pick the breed, fight it out. The winning breed gets a badge on every dog's profile that week.

6.QR collars

Your dog's TailWag QR Smart Collar is the bridge between the app and the real world. Two QR types per collar:

QR codes auto-rotate every 30 days for privacy. More on collars →
